2025 WHE Talent Show

The PFA will be hosting the 2025 Talent Show on Friday, January 17, 2025! You may be thinking it is a bit early to be talking about a January Talent Show, but it is not!  The deadline to register will be December 9th and auditions will be the week of December 16th

This means you have approximately 1.5 months to:

1) determine if you have the time to commit to preparing your student(s) to be in the show,

2) work with your student(s) to build an act

3) practice before auditions!

We have included a lot of details below, intentionally. We want you to have as much information as possible to help you make the best decision for your student(s) and family.

If you have any questions, please reach out to parent volunteer Carolyn Rearick (Carolyn.rearick@gmail.com).

AUDITIONS

Any student (TK-5th) is welcome to audition. However, only the Acts that have completed and submitted the Application Form and Fee by Monday, December 9 at 5pm will receive an audition date.  The fee is $10 per Act, regardless of how many students are involved in the Act.  All Acts need to be under 2 minutes. Last year we were able to have 28 Acts in the 2-hour show! Lyrics or scripts (if applicable) need to be approved. No inappropriate language is allowed. Acts are responsible for providing their edited digital music file (if applicable).

Auditions will be held Tuesday, December 17th and Thursday, December 19th starting at 2:40pm.  Please keep both dates available. We will do our best to notify each Act of their audition date by Thursday, December 12, and we will do our best to have siblings audition on the same date.

Every Act will need (1) adult chaperone at auditions. This is regardless of grade and how they get home. If an Act does not have a chaperone, all students in the Act will be sent home and not allowed to audition.  There are too many after school programs and we do not have enough volunteers. This is for the safety of the students and the students in afterschool. You can act as a chaperone for multiple Acts if you have children that overlap with more than one Act.  You do not need a TB screening to volunteer for PFA.

PRACTICE DATES

Each ACT
will be required to attend 3 practices before the Show on their assigned date.  Every Act will need (1) adult chaperone at each practice for the same reasons stated above. Below is an outline of the practice dates.

The week of January 6th [Each Act will attend one practice day this week!]
Practice dates will be on Tuesday, January 7th and Thursday, January 9th starting at 2:40pm. Each Act will be assigned their mandatory practice date once we develop the order of the Acts (1st vs 2ndhalf of show).

The week of January 13th [Each Act will attend two practices this week, and don’t forget the Show!]

Practice dates will be on Monday January 13 and Tuesday, January 14 starting at 2:40pm. Each Act will be assigned their mandatory practice date once we develop the order of the Acts (1st vs 2nd half of show).

Every Act will need to attend the mandatory “ALL Act Dress Rehearsal” practice on Thursday, January 16th from 2:40pm- 5:00pm.
